Start/Stop vs turbocharger

Newbie here
If everything goes well, this Thursday I will be picking up 16 plate Duster Laureate 1.5 diesel.
I have been driving in a past a mixture of petrol and diesel cars, but never had one equipped with a start/stop, so this is a new for me. It is not a problem to understand how it works, as this bit is dead simple, it is to understand what happens for example after 100 miles run, when engine is warm and turbocharger usually hot - would the engine cut off ? Is it safe ?
Driving all my diesels, I have been always told - once you finish your run, put car on idle and let it run for 3+ minutes, so turbo charger can cool down, otherwise you will kill it fast. When talking to dealer about this scenario, I have been told that computer will check engine temperature, battery charge level etc and assess if it is safe to stop the car on traffic lights etc ... What about turbo charger ?
What do you guys think ?

Hi, the system should be programmed not to stop the engine under certain conditions (cold engine, too hot engine) but who knows how it works in real life. Have you tested it yet? I've got my Duster only for a couple of weeks and I haven't done any longer trips so I've got no experience with it so far.
