New Car for the price of a Used one?
 

Isn't the Duster kind of a new car for the cost of a secondhand one? The Duster already undercuts much of the segment by significant margins...

Where else in the UK can one purchase brand new for £9,000... While every Duster trim level fits under £20,000....

The Duster comes in at a competitive price. Thats how its marketed. As an affordable car.

The reason why the trim levels can be so cheap is because there are many things that are left out of the standard model. It is a common practice with "affordable" vehicles. Its also nice that you can get a fully loaded model and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

The Ford EcoSport is also a good bargain. The field is getting more competitive.

Is the Ecosport really comparable as far as affordability? Does the Ecosport also have bare bones on the entry-level trim? I expected Ford to not go quite as far as Dacia in this respect.

as far as affordability goes the EcoSport is affordable but it's off-road capabilities may not be as good as the Duster. The EcoSport is basically your a-b commuter, duster is just like it but can go off-road, of course there are some limits.

funny how the terrano and duster interiors are very close to eachother, they should have at least put more effort into making both models a bit more different from the inside.

I read on Janes that the Australian Army is changing its fire team structure to two 4-man fire teams and one 4-man heavy fire team for a new 12-man rifle section. I also read that the current 9-man rifle section was divided into a gun group, an assault group, and a command group each of three men. Has anyone else heard this?
